After researching many facilities in San Diego, we easily made the decision to place our mom at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. No doubt, it was the best of the facilities we toured. The well-thought-out design is home-like and easy to navigate. No long hallways with multiple doors nor institution-like layout. It is bright, airy, has high ceilings, beautiful & comfortable furnishings with a resort-like atmosphere.
We have peace knowing she will be in a safe, beautiful, serene environment. The attentive skilled care, delicious food, and many activities that target physical, mental & social wellbeing have provided tremendous benefit.
The staff are exceptional & that includes everyone: concierges, nurses, caregivers, med techs & administration team. [name removed], Marketing Director was exceedingly helpful & ever-present for us throughout the process. She made all the difference with her support, compassion & guidance.
It is a privilege and blessing for our mom to be a resident at Silvergate.

We looked at different facilities and chose Silvergate three years ago. So pleased we did. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. The environment is like a five star hotel.. Safety and cleanliness are a priority. We feel confident in the care given when we aren’t there. It is always reassuring when we visit that we, as well as residents, are called by name. We are very fortunate to have found the right Memory Care home for Mom at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. All of the staff are compassionate and caring. They provide a wide variety of activities for the residents, from crafts, live music, scenic bus rides, to seasonal events that the families can join in. We are impressed with the high level of cleanliness, security, excellent food, and well-maintained grounds. After my husband passed away a friend suggested I visit Silvergate since it was nearby and I knew people who were living there. To be honest, I wasn’t interested in looking at that kind of living arrangement. It felt confining to me.

My daughter came with me to meet with the Marketing Coordinator who introduced us to the many amenities and took us into several units which were lovingly showed to us by the residents who lived there. We met several people during our tour and between the incredibly friendly environment and the seemingly endless facilities, we were blown away! we felt like it was a small community with happy, active, open residents living their best lives.

I am looking forward to moving there when my new home becomes available.

We toured Silvergate Rancho Bernardo during our search for an Assisted Living/Memory Care facility for our loved one. This facility had a very upscale feel and was a lovely facility IF YOU ARE NOT IN MEMORY CARE. The Memory Care unit felt like a prison compared to the rest of the property and was segregated depending on what side of the hall you lived in.

Moving a loved one to an assisted care/independent living/memory care facility is never an easy step for a family to take. At Silvergate in Rancho Bernardo our entire family was treated with an immense amount of genuine kindness, compassion and respect. During our tour of the facility it was apparent that the staff knows each and every resident, and not just because it is their job but because they are very caring individuals. They listened and understood our wants and needs. The staff at Silvergate made a process that is usually filled with fear and dread, a very positive experience. At the end of our tour not only was the fear gone for our Mom but she was very excited about the next chapter of her life at Silvergate.

Sadly, at 90 years old, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with advanced dementia and were lucky enough to have found professional and compassionate care for her her at Silvergate Memory Care in Rancho Bernardo.

From the Executive Director [name removed] , to every nurse, chef, dinning fall staff, security, every employee exhibits the highest level of professional care toward our loved one and show the deepest empathy to my wife and I at this difficult time. Most of all, in her current state of advanced dementia, my mother-in-law is someone that others cold and have taken advantage of.

Finally, if a state certified secure memory facility is something you are considering for your loved one, will tell you that [name removed] and staff will painlessly guide you through the process.

My wife now gets restful sleep knowing that her mother is in a safe. clean and professionally run facility of the highest caliber.

When it became medically impossible and too physically demanding to care for mom and dad on our own, me and my siblings chose Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. It was like taking our parents to loving family members who were all professionals in caring for our elderly (mid-90’s) parents. We were VERY picky! In fact we considered 28 places but none fit our tight criteria/tight budget until the 29th place, Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. And, we have never regretted our decision but instead were constantly proven correct in our choice. My mom would say quite often how much she loved her apartment, the staff, the food, the activities and the love that she felt each day. My dad, never one for many words, would say that these staff members are ‘his comfort’…how much he appreciated the help they received in everything and anything from changing the time on the microwave to getting him to the ER after a fall. We highly recommend Silvergate Rancho Bernardo!

We have been looking at independent and assisted living facilities in North County and from the first step inside we were blown away by the facility and the staff. The facility is 5 star, immaculate, light and bright and they have many safety precautions in place for the residents. The staff is extremely caring and kind, we noticed that they know the residents by name and genuinely care about them. The vibe here is happy, vibrant and you can see that the residents are thriving with the care, activities, food and I am so excited that my parents chose this place to call their next home. Besides the heated pool, bocce ball, BBQ area, mini putt putt golf, and the beautiful grounds, the residents have privileges at Bernardo Heights County Club where they can play tennis and pickleball, and it is directly next to Silvergate so an easy walk to get there. They have so many groups that anyone from any walk of life will find a group of friends. Make this amazing place your next home!

Our time at Silvergate Rancho Bernardi often feels as though we are on vacation on a cruise ship, or at a very nice resort, with the added bonus of continuing to live with your friends and staff in our relatively small family-owned setting.

You have multiple high quality choices for all three meals, Casual dining is available for all meals with outdoor seating as a lunch option, and fine dining as an option in the evening. Extended serving times provide additional flexibility. There are a number of special themed lunch events and special holiday meals throughout the year.

Services from maintenance, housekeeping, and health services are friendly and professional. There are a nice mix of activities regularly available; physical activities, cards, games, arts, bingo, arts and crafts, special social events with live music, and themed lunch events. Field trips to concerts, plays, museums, restaurants, etc. are planned throughout the year.

Our host went out of her way to answer all questions and to show us everything we were interested in. The staff and residents are very welcoming. and helpful. We were able to visit several units to compare floor plans of the two bedroom units. Overall, a very good day!

I live over an hour away…….and drive to Rancho Bernardo 4 times a
week to see my husband of 20 years……….He has Alzheimer’s and
when he was home, had a terrible time with sun downing (wandering
in the evening)…….security picked him up in the early a.m., many a time, confused and sometimes injured………
There are many choices of good memory care facilities in the San Diego area – I saw most of them!
The care, the activities to keep my [name removed] engaged, healthy food – all of it,
is the BEST…….after my tour – I signed up right away…..
The truly BEST – is that my husband collapsed a couple months ago
there – within 30 sec. – 2 caregivers and a med-tech were on him
with C.P.R., 911 call, clearing the surroundings – and paramedics there
within 5 min…. rushed to the Pomerado Hospital 2 miles away.
[name removed], had pneumonia, at 99 yrs. old, went to skilled nursing
at Pomerado, now back at Silvergate fully recovered, and doing
physical therapy..

After visiting eight senior independent living communities and many more researched on line, Silvergate came on top in every category. It started with the first impression as you drive into the open and attractive community. Also the lobby is as welcoming as the community as a whole. My tour was led by [name removed] who couldn’t have been more friendly, knowledgeable and caring. As we walked through the property all the residents were reacting to her in such a positive way, you could tell she was well liked and appreciated. I felt the same way. All of the many amenities were top notch. I also ate there and the food was delicious.. it was the first community I saw that I knew I would be happy there. The only problem is everyone else feels the same way so consequently there is a waiting list. I still put down a deposit and will patiently wait for my new home to became available.
